My research includes both theory and practice: studying the cultural significance of digital media and designing and experimenting with new media forms. On the practical level, I work with computer scientists and designers in the Augmented Environments Lab at Georgia Tech to create new digital experiences and media forms. On the theoretical and historical side, I am interested today's heterogenous media culture and its relationship to the twentieth-century media forms and practices.
My two current areas of focus:
Augmented Reality Experience Design
(Digital) Media Theory and History
